Modelling USA Age-Cohort Mortality: A Comparison of Multi-Factor Affine Mortality Models

نویسندگان

چکیده

Affine mortality models are well suited for theoretical and practical application in pricing risk management of risk. They produce consistent, closed-form stochastic survival curves allowing the efficient valuation mortality-linked claims. We model USA age-cohort data using five multi-factor affine models. focus on three-factor compare four Gaussian along with a based Cox–Ingersoll–Ross (CIR) process, Gamma-distributed rates. assess Arbitrage-Free Nelson–Siegel (AFNS) model, which incorporates level, slope curvature factors, canonical factor both without correlations dynamics. show that data, probability negative rates is small. Models estimated discrete time versions capturing variability cohort curves. Poisson variation included estimation Kalman filter through measurement equation. consider incorporating dependence to capture effects age-dependence The analysis demonstrates independent-factor AFNS performs compared other explaining forecasting data.

securitization of mortality risks in life annuities

insurers have in the past few decades faced longevity risks - the risk that annuitants survive more than expected - and therefore need a new approach to manage this new risk. in this dissertation we survey methods that hedge longevity risks. these methods use securitization to manage risk, so using modern financial and insurance pricing models, especially wang transform and actuarial concepts, ...

Early mortality experience in a large military cohort and a comparison of mortality data sources

BACKGROUND Complete and accurate ascertainment of mortality is critically important in any longitudinal study. Tracking of mortality is particularly essential among US military members because of unique occupational exposures (e.g., worldwide deployments as well as combat experiences). Our study objectives were to describe the early mortality experience of Panel 1 of the Millennium Cohort, cons...

Calibrating affine stochastic mortality models using insurance contracts premiums

In this paper, we focus on the calibration of affine stochastic mortality models using insurance contracts premiums. Viewing insurance contracts as “market products,” we propose fitting stochastic models on the quotes of insurance policies. For this purpose, insurance contracts are viewed as a “swap” in which policyholders exchange cash flows (premiums vs. benefits) with an insurer analogous to...

A Comparative Study of Parametric Models of Old-Age Mortality

Four mortality models: Gompertz, Makeham, Logistic and Coale Kisker models have been considered for a comparative study of OldAge Mortality for both male and female based on reliable data of ten countries. Sufficiently long run of reliable data selecting from ten countries: Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, England, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, United Kingdom have been used for th...

Child Mortality at Different World Regions: A Comparison Review

The loss of a child is a tragedy - families suffer and human potential is wasted. 6.3 million children under the age of five died in 2013, nearly 17 000 every day. Most deaths among children aged one to five years are due to diseases that can be prevented, but that can also be easily treated at home or in health facilities. Leading causes of death in under-five children are preterm birth compli...
